Lalah Molkot

Captain of The Black Sails

Common Rumors

"She says her family is from the South Shroud, but we never saw any of her small clan until after the Calamity!" ~ Woodwailer

"It's funny, she didn't seem too broken up when we found her mate's body half decayed in the desert. And the fletching on those arrows isn't the kind we usually see around here. We dismissed it as him crossing the Syndicate, because he was kind of a jerk and didn't know his place, but the whole thing was really odd." ~ Brassblade

"That girl has such a thing for fluffy tails and lion tails. I've seen her eyeing our Tia! I bet he'd bring her home if she wanted to be part of the tribe though." ~ U Tribe female

Moderate Rumors

"I 'eard she runs tha whole shebang, Cap'n Alanth doesnae have ta do a thin' anymore! An' he gets a good feel o'them titties every mornin'!" ~ Heard on the docks at Limsa

"They say her father died protecting the clan's young from all that debris that fell in the West Shroud. Only two or three of the younglings survived. Supposedly she took it so bad she had to leave the Twelveswood completely, and she got in real good with a bad sort out Limsa way." ~ Murmured conversation in the Carline Canopy

Rare Rumors

"Her father was a Seeker. She's not even full blooded! She doesn't deserve the title of Matriarch, and we're going to bring her down!" ~ Hushed ranting carried through the trees of the South Shroud

"I overheard her telling some plate armor'd Miqo'te that she'd lost a baby. She never really talked much about it though and she was never showing." ~ Goblet Dancer

PC Rumors

"She had a Seeker member who didn't like being touched, and this other Keeper member kept harassing him. I heard she pulled the Keeper boy aside and threatened to put his body to sleep and leave his mind awake, and leave his body on the beach for the high tide to slowly drown. Funny, I haven't seen the Keeper kid around in a while..." ~ Ex-crewmate

About

Time has taken Lalah from a soft and motherly caretaker to a fierce mama bear, ready to spring into action at the slightest threat to her crew and clan. She has worked her way from simple First Mate, to a Captain in her own right, respected on both the sea and in the air. In recent years she has taken over for her mother in the role of Matriarch of her clan as well; her goals of achieving respectful trade with the people of Gridania nearly achieved.Lalah is short of stature, at a tiny 4'10", her body curvy in the ways only a previous pregnancy can produce. Her voice is soft and clear, in the soprano range, but she has produced a sharp edge when angry. Her red hair is long, and often worn in fancier styles, her eyes bright blue. She has a series of tribal tattoos over the left hip and thigh. Her home can be found nestled in the 6th ward of the Lavender Beds, on plot 37.Areas of Expertise

RP Hooks

"Privateer"
Familiar with the seas or air? It's completely possible you've heard of Captain Lalah and her motley crew. They were once the laughingstock of Limsa, with a base of operations in the Goblet, and no ship to be seen; a captain who was so drunk he couldn't keep his pants up, and a crew that had no idea how to sail. They still keep an office in the Goblet, but since Captain Alanth died and Lalah took over, they have since risen amongst their peers, to not only sail the seas, but soar amongst the clouds.
Healer
Back when there were clinics everywhere, people were familiar with how thorough Lalah's physicals were. Not one to leave anything to chance, and with no fucks given towards one's embarrassment, she made sure her patients were in tip top shape before clearing them to work. She healed many an adventurer, and still can be called on in an emergency today.
Order of the Twin Adders
Lalah was once a decorated healer within the ranks of the Twin Adders, serving on the battlefield of Carteneau. She was there, when the moon broke open and most of her contingent was killed. She left the Adders soon after, drifting through Limsa to finally settle with the Flames.

The Black Sails

The Black Sails is a Medium-Heavy RP FC on the server Gilgamesh. We are a "Privateering" crew, with a fleet of ships, airships, and submarines.
The crew itself is wide and varying, with Lalah taking in almost any needy soul and finding them a job and a place. Much of the original crew has scattered to the wind, some wandering, some settling down. Rumors are that the original captain was found dead in his chambers, the bed and him in it charred beyond recognition. The alcohol bottles strewn around it could have contributed, however it is strange that only the bed burned.
The Black Sails is always recruiting new crewmates. Our offices can be found on Gilgamesh, in the Goblet's 13th ward, plot 33.

OOC Information

Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy):
Medium-heavy
Views on RP combat and injuries:
It needs to be approached carefully. I often see people get angry OOC over silly things, because neither character is willing to take a hit and the like. For me, personally, as long as it's discussed ahead of time and an outcome can be agreed upon that everyone is happy with, I'm okay with it.
Views on IC romance:
If it's where the RP naturally flows. I don't like things that are pre-decided. I am not interested in ERP.
Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc):
I love building friendships and contacts, and I'm not against family members; especially those one might not know as well, such as cousins.
Views on lore:
I don't personally know the lore as well as many others here likely do, so I've got no place to judge. I usually try to stay as true to the lore as possible, but I'm somewhat more flexible when it comes to others. As long as it isn't flauntingly breaking the lore, I can usually find a way to work with it.
Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc):
Any place that isn't designated OOC seems a good place for RP. Obviously certain types of RP are best kept to party or tells (No offense, but I'd rather not see what people do behind closed doors), but Linkshells seem a great tool to have IC chatter, while still being out in the world and doing quests. As for the OOC, I prefer it to be noted with a ((bracket form)), so I know for sure it's not IC. Unless it's in a channel marked "OOC". I also generally prefer to keep the OOC to a minimum on /say and RP Linkshells, but tells are a-okay!
